Online Community

There are various online forums for Teachers of the Deaf and parents of deaf children, in the UK and other parts of the world.  BATOD manages an email forum

BATOD membership options include an option for overseas members https://www.batod.org.uk/memberships/

Areas for further research

The global pandemic has significantly impacted the access to learning for deaf children but it has allowed opportunities for greater sharing of resources, practices and training.  Please contact meshguides@batodfoundation.org.uk if you are able to suggest further information or case studies that would prove valuable to the deaf education community in the Global South.

Editors' Comments

Access to education, from the earliest years through to adulthood, varies significantly in resource limited areas in the Global South.

We welcome further examples of case studies of 'grass-root' practice, resources and training materials.
Please send these to meshguides@batodfoundation.org.uk

Transferability

The collected information and resources are intended to highlight, cascade and provide evidence of the practice within deaf education and related sectors in many different areas in the Global South.

Strength of Evidence

Collective research, knowledge and practice of professional peers working at the grassroots level in the sectors associated with deaf education in the Global South. Examples and contributions from BATOD members and others interested and involved in all areas of improving education for the deaf worldwide.

Further examples of policy, practice and case studies are welcomed.
